World Poetry Day 2025: Celebrating the Power of Words and Culture
Poetry has always been more than just words on a page, it has the power to inspire, connect, and preserve cultural heritage. This year, on March 21, 2025, Raising Champion Children Initiative (RCCI) proudly joined the global celebration of World Poetry Day at Ikeja Local Government, bringing together students, dignitaries, and poetry enthusiasts to honor the art of poetry and its impact on education and society.
The event kicked off with an inspiring speech from Ibigbami Adeola Atinuke, RCCI’s Project Coordinator, setting the tone for a day filled with creativity and learning.
Dignitaries, including Oba of Ikeja, Hon. Adenuga Adetunji Ayotunde (Leader of the House), and the HOD of the Education Unit, emphasized how poetry nurtures literacy, expression, and cultural identity. Their words reinforced the importance of poetry in education and everyday life.
Students from six secondary schools showcased their talents in a quiz competition, poetry writing session, and cultural dance presentation by the Princess Oduyemi Dancing Group. Their performances highlighted the creative potential of young minds when given the right platform.

As we continue our mission to support children’s education and creativity, we invite you to join us in making a difference.
Together, we can give every child a voice.
