The importance of educating girls in Nation building
Education for girls is one of the effective ways of alleviating poverty and develop the economy .According to Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” The key foundation to nation building is education and family. Women are the heart of the family and family is the cornerstone of the society.
Educating girls and young women does not only improve their personal lives but also benefits their families and society which in turn stimulate the growth of the economy. Good family unit and valves is fundamental to nation building. That is why empowering women is important, since they take care of the home and need to be equipped to be good role models. Educating girls helps them to have a voice, know their rights, participate in politics and take up top key positions in the society. Quality education where they learn the basics of numeracy, literacy and critical thinking is taught from early years or foundation is vital to nation building.
